Choosing a Pool Finish: Plaster, Pebble, or Tile

Continental Pool Design StudioDecember 5, 20257 min read

Plaster finishes are the most economical and offer a clean, uniform look, but typically require resurfacing every seven to ten years depending on water chemistry and usage.

Pebble finishes cost more upfront but are significantly more durable and give the water a distinctive depth and texture. They're our default recommendation for renovation projects where longevity matters.

Fully tiled pools sit at the top of the range, offering the widest palette of colour and pattern and the longest lifespan, but require the most precise installation to avoid future grout and waterproofing issues.

The right choice depends on budget, how the pool will be used, and how the interior colour interacts with your specific water chemistry and climate exposure — something we assess during the design consultation.
