The Engineering Behind an Infinity Edge

An infinity edge reads as pure illusion, but the effect depends entirely on precise engineering. The pool shell must be levelled to within millimetres, and the catch basin sized to handle the exact volume of water displaced by bathers.

Wind is the most underestimated variable. On an exposed site, even moderate wind can disturb the sheeting water and break the illusion — so orientation and edge detailing have to account for prevailing conditions, not just the view.

The pump and basin system also has to run continuously and silently. We size circulation specifically for the edge length, not just the pool volume, so the water sheets evenly along the entire run rather than pooling unevenly at one end.

Done correctly, the edge becomes the quietest, most invisible part of the entire build — which is exactly the point.
