Renovation vs. Full Rebuild: How to Decide
The decision usually comes down to the shell. If the structure is sound and waterproofing has failed only at the surface, renovation is almost always the more cost-effective path.
Persistent leaks, visible structural cracking, or repeated waterproofing failures are signs the shell itself may be compromised, which points toward a full rebuild rather than another resurfacing cycle.
Age alone isn't a reliable signal — we've renovated twenty-year-old pools with excellent bones, and recommended a rebuild for five-year-old pools with poor original waterproofing.
A proper structural assessment before committing to either path is the only way to avoid spending on a renovation that a failing shell will undo within a few years.
